New Gainesville High School
The Gainesville I.S.D Board of Trustees recently unanimously voted to approve the building type and site location for the new high school. The new high school which will be located between the frontage road of Interstate 35 and 1306 will face Interstate 35, be constructed near the center of the district owned property, and will consist of approximately 180,000 square feet. The new school is designed for future expansion of all academic and core areas should the need arise. The campus will have students in grades nine through twelve and is originally being designed for 1,000 students in the academic areas with the building accommodating 1,200 students in the core areas. The district architects and engineers are currently working on both off-site utility plans and building plans. The construction of off-site utilities will occur first and will be followed by the school building construction.
